Feed Additive to maintain optimal rumen conditions

Rumen fermentation and Rumen pH:
Rumen fermentation is a vital process in the digestion of four stomached animals. For optimal rumen fermentation, the key elements involved are rumen microbes, rumen pH, rumen liquor and rumen motility. Adequate rumen function ensures optimal dry matter intake and feed efficiency.

Disturbance to Rumen pH:
Early lactation period is the time during which milk yield increases steadily, but it is also the time of challenges to the animal as dry matter intake of the animal is less than the requirement for biological needs and milk yields. Uterine involution takes place during early lactation. Hence the amount of feed taken by the animal is sub-optimal. Uncontrolled decrease in rumen pH leads to sub-acute ruminal acidosis followed by ruminal and systemic acidosis. It may warrant fluid therapy and injection of sodium bicarbonate through intravenous route.

Rumen pH and Feed efficiency:
The secondary impact of rumen pH on rumen function affects feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency. Rumen pH optimization is a cost-effective method maintain optimal rumen function. Optimal rumen pH sustains beneficial rumen microbes and favors rumen motility to trigger cud chewing and saliva production.

Influence on Growth and weight gain:
In calves, growth and weight gain are accelerated by early rumen development to increase rumen efficiency in utilization of roughages. Rumen pH is a key factor to keep the residual feed intake at its minimal level. Residual feed intake is the difference between an animal's actual feed intake and expected feed intake over a specific period.

Importance of Rumen Buffers:

Rumen buffers are an integral part in the feed of high yielding dairy animals. Rumen buffers help to balance the rumen environment. Rumen buffers help to augment fat content in milk. Rumen buffers favor better utilization of feed.

In beef cattle where average daily gain determines the body weight of animal at the determined slaughter period, sustaining rumen pH of individual animals in the optimal range is essential.

A break through solution to Ruminal Acidosis for First time in India

  • Strengthens the chemical buffering system of the rumen.
  • Supplements the animal's requirement of buffer along with added laxative effect

Benefits:

  • Stabilizes the rumen at its optimum pH over longer periods
  • Restores appetite and enhances rumen efficiency
  • Enhances fiber digestion and increases dry matter intake
  • Increases milk production
  • Improves milk fat

Indications:

  • Regular Supplementation to prevent Sub-acute Ruminal Acidosis (SARA) and as a supportive to alleviate the symptoms in Acute Ruminal Acidosis
  • High Concentrate Ration - High levels of starch in feed will be fermented rapidly which leads to subclinical acidosis
  • Low Fiber Ration - Leads to depressed feed intake and lower butter fat percentage
  • Early Lactation Period - Due to high milk production there is increased risk of feeding high concentrate ration, which leads to acidosis
  • Unusual Stress Conditions - Heat stress reduces dry matter intake and affect electrolyte balance. RumiBuff helps restore feed intake and replace lost electrolytes.

Trial Conducted With RumiBuff Against Sub Acute Ruminal Acidosis (SARA).
