A Novel Synergistic Blend of Concentrated Eubiotics for prevention of
Gut Pathogens of Shrimp and Fish in Aquaculture

A natural advancement for prevention of Intestinal Pathogens and
to Create Healthy Gut Environment of Shrimp and Fish

ShemSaf Gel Mode of Action

  • ShemSaf Gel is both bacteriostatic and bactericidal with its unique activity on gut pathogens.
  • ZFA in ShemSaf Gel are in un-dissociated form and are lipophilic, with PBC and EOs, can cross the cell membrane of Gram negative bacteria, such as Vibrio.
  • ShemSaf Gel once inside the cell, the higher cytosolic pH causes the ZFA to dissociate, releasing hydrogen ions, which consequently reduces the intracellular pH.
  • Microbial metabolism is dependent on enzyme activity, which is depressed at lower pH.
  • To repair the balance, the pathogen microbial cell is forced to use energy to expel protons out across the membrane via the ATPase pump to restore the cytoplasmic pH to normal.
  • Over a period of exposure to an ZFA in ShemSaf Gel is sufficient to kill the bacterial cell.
  • Expelling protons also leads to an accumulation of acid anions in the cell (Lambert and Stratford, 1998), which inhibits intracellular metabolic reactions, including the synthesis of macromolecules (DNA), and disrupts internal membranes.
  • Gram positive probiotics like Lactic acid bacteria are less sensitive to the pH differential across the cell membrane, and thus remain unaffected by ShemSaf Gel.

Beneficial effect of ShemSaf Gel

  • Inhibits the colonization of harmful pathogens including bacteria and viruses.
  • Promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
  • Increased disease resistance against bacteria and viruses.
  • Inhibition of the growth of enteric bacteria in the gut, liver and hepatopancreas.
  • Besides its antimicrobial function, enhanced enzyme secretion.
  • Improved proliferation of the epithelial cells results in an increased villi length and villus-crypt ratio, thereby enhanced nutrient absorption and better growth rate of shrimp and fish.
  • Improves intestinal health and prevents white gut and problem of white faces in shrimp.
  • Improved nutrient utilization will result in the reduction of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and other nutrient excretion into the culture water thereby contributing to maintaining higher water quality.
  • Hepatopancreatic protective properties in shrimp during disease infections.
  • Reduces the microbial load discharged into the aquatic culture environment thereby improves water quality and reduces the spread of disease.
  • Beneficial in both hatcheries and farms.
  • Beneficial to the environment, hence Ecofriendly.

The increasing emphasis on food safety and traceability will continue to spur the production of antibiotic-free and safe seafood using ecofriendly product - ShemSef Gel.

Composition:
ShemSaf Gel is a combination of Phytogenic Bioactive Compounds (PBC), Essential Oils (EOs), Zootechnical feed additives - organic acidulants - (ZFA) fortified with Immunostimulants.

ShemSaf Gel has been formulated and developed after several years of intensive field level trials.

Usage instructions:
For use in Aquaculture Feeds:
Shrimp:30-50 ml / kg feed
Fish: 20-30 ml / kg feed or advised by Aquaculture Consultant.

ShemSaf Gel should be applied regularly immediately after stockings along with the feed. Other functional feed supplements like UltraZyme-P-FS and StarShrimp are also advised to mix along with the ShemSaf Gel, if necessary, due to its binding properties.

Presentation: 1.0 Lit and 5.0 Lit.
