The use of water
with adequate physical, chemical and microbiological quality is
of fundamental importance for the sound performance of a
herd/flock. Water being the most important nutrient for life,
the quality preservation of water is the primary element for a
healthy herd. Contamination of water supplies is increasing
gradually as a result of rural and urban activities
Use of water with no microbiological control poses the risk that
animals are affected at any time by water-borne diseases that
generally have disastrous consequences especially in animal
sector where many animals have access to the same source of
water.
Drinking water is an important mode of transmission of
bacterial, viral and protozoan diseases that commonly affect
animal health. Important factors to prevent water-borne
infections are the
Protection
of supply sources of water
Water sanitation and
Quality
control of microbiological, chemical and physical
characteristics.
Two areas
that need to be checked are
1. Keeping the disease out of the flock
2. If introduced, prevent its spread within the premises or to
other uninfected herds.
Provision of clean drinking water, with a control on the
microbiological quality is very important to maintain a healthy
herd and this is achieved with the use of TetraSan, a quaternary
ammonium preparation, ideally suited for the rapid sanitization
of drinking water.
TetraSan
Prevents
water-borne infections of bacterial and fungal origin.
Reduces
chances of water-borne viral infections.
Features
Fast
acting bactericide, fungicide and virustat
Residual
bacteriostat and fungistat
Safe,
Odorless disinfectant
Non-staining
at user dilutions
Effective
in all types of water
Formulation
Didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride
Mode of
Action
Didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, a Quaternary ammonium
compound is an excellent surfactant (surface active agent) which
adsorbs the microbial cell surface and diffuses into the cell,
finally binding the cell membrane and disrupting it leading to
the leakage of the intracellular contents which kills the cell.
Spectrum
of activity
Fights many of the pathogenic bacteria, virus and fungi commonly
present in the water sources.
Preparation
Safe and effective water sanitizer
to
check the microbial contamination in drinking waters.
to
provide clean water for maintaining a healthy herd.
Dose:
1 ml of TetraSan in 10 liters or 500 ml in 5,000 liters
of drinking water, daily.
Presentation:
500ml, 1.0 liter and 5.0 liters
Caution:
Suspend dosing of TetraSan during administration of
vaccines/probiotics. |
