Iron and Heavy Metal Control in Aquaculture Ponds

In aquaculture, it is very important to manage the hardness of water in bore-well based ponds. Iron bearing pyrites cannot be reduced by the addition of only chemical additives. Use of suitable microbes is the practical solution. Unique microbes that release enzymes to break Ferrous Sulfide to Ferrous Oxide which is less harmful to the pond environment.

By using FerBac, Iron bearing waters are often defferized by oxidizing the ferrous iron with dissolved oxygen and then remove the resulting ferric oxide flock by bacterial degradation.
