Infectious bronchitis is caused due to corona virus and it causes great economic loss through high mortality, reduced egg production, watery albumin and poor egg shell and in broilers, poor weight gain and feed efficiency. Birds of all age are susceptible.
Transmission includes aerosol, fomites, birds and visitors but not through egg transmission.
Clinical signs in Infectious bronchitis are abnormal respiratory sound, gasping, sneezing, watery nasal and eye discharge and facial swelling. In reproductive farm of disease reduce egg production upto 50%. There is an abnormal size and shape of egg.
Disease can be controlled by vaccination, disinfection and improve management (temperature and ventilation). Antimicrobials are required to control the secondary bacterial infections. Measures to boost the immune system of the birds will hasten the recovery.
