CAV is an immunosuppressive disease of young chick upto 3 weeks of age, caused due to circa virus. This disease has to economic importance due high mortality because of immunosuppressive.

Transmission occurs through vertically and horizontally i.e. ingestion and inhalation.

Symptoms in CAV involve severe anaemia and atrophy of the thymus, bursa of fabricius and spleen. Anaemia is easily seen on comb, wattles, eyelids and legs. Skin lesion usually appears on wing which is more prone to secondary bacterial infection. Secondary infection cause severe clinical symptoms.

Treatment with appropriate antibiotic to control secondary bacterial infection and vitamin supplement is helpful.
Horizontal transmission can be controlled by proper vaccination and disinfection. Antimicrobials are required to control the secondary bacterial infections. Measures to boost the immune system of the birds will hasten the recovery.
