Heat stress is the discomfort caused to the animal due variation in temperature and/or humidity to the point where the cow cannot dissipate an adequate quantity of heat to maintain body thermal balance. A number of changes can be noted in animals as a result of heat stress. Elevated body temperature, increased respiration rates, increased maintenance energy requirement, Decreased Feed utilization efficiency, Decreased Feed intake, Decreased milk production & Reproduction are some of the effects that occur in animals due to heat stress.
