Prolapse of oviduct
Diseases / Conditions Prolapse of oviduct

During oviposition the shell gland is temporarily everted along with the egg. This allows the hen to lay a very clean egg. Sometimes the oviduct will not immediately retract once the egg has been laid. This condition is known as prolapse.

Prolapse is caused due to over or underweight birds, early photostimulation, unbalanced feed rations, reproductive age of the flock, debeaking, laying double yolked eggs and larger egg size, deficiency of Nacl, high light intensity, pathological factors - oviduct and cloaca - inflammation, white diarrhea, Coccidiosis and peritoneal tumor, dietary vitamin-A and vitamin-E deficiency.

This problem is solved by supplementation of vitamins, minerals and managemental correction.
