AmoxStron is the best tolerated oral penicillin, having ensured activity against gram negative and gram positive bacteria.
AmoxStron is a broad spectrum antibiotic, active against gram positive and gram negative organisms. It prevents the cell wall synthesis of bacteria by interfering with the final stage of peptidoglycon synthesis. AmoxStron inhibits the activity of transpeptidase enzymes, which catalyze cross linkage of the glycopeptide polymer units that forms the cell wall.
Indications
- Necrotic dermatitis.
- E-Coli infections.
- Infectious Coryza.
- C.R.D. Complex.
- Fowl Typhoid.
- Pullorum Disease.
- Stress and performance slumps.
Composition
Amoxycillin: 50% w/w
(added as Amoxycillin Trihydrate I.P)
Excipients: Q.S.
Dosage:
40 mg of AmoxStron (20 mg Amoxycillin) per kg body weight.
- Mix AmoxStron at the rate of 40 mg per kg body weight in the required quantity of drinking water that will be consumed
in 2-3 hours.
- Colisepticaemia
- Resume normal supply of drinking water after the consumption of medicated water.
- Repeat the procedure once daily for 3-5 days.
Drug interactions:
- AmoxStron is commonly synergistic with aminoglycosides.
- Synergistic with Chloramphenicol.
- AmoxStron is commonly synergistic with penicillinase resistant penicillins.
- Mix AmoxStron at the rate of 40 mg per kg body weight in the required quantity of drinking water that will be consumed in 2-3 hours.
