Phenylbutazone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation of muscles and bones.
Phenylbutazone has long duration of action. It acts by inhibition of the arachidonic acid cascade at the level of prostaglandin H synthase and prostacyclin synthase which results in decreased production of prostaglandins and thromboxane.
Sodium Salicylate is a proven antipyretic and analgesic agent with rapid onset of action.
